We’re hiring!

Walker are on the hunt for a creative copywriter who isn’t afraid to get stuck in at the deep end and apply their thinking on some major international brands.

The role will allow you to flex creative muscle, working on campaign ideas, digital, tv and radio scripts, outdoor ads, pitches, the kitchen sink. We’re full-service, so the media is very broad and can range from social right through to outdoor experiential. Successful candidates will need to have a firm grasp of strategy & planning, understanding how the agency process marries strategy with the big idea. Whilst this is a copywriter position and will require some words down on paper from time to time, the key duties will be much more conceptual, and require more of the ‘creative’ part of the role (as opposed to writing novels).

Job responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Creative Director, working on creative briefs across a variety of media

  • Working within a very agile environment, liaising across the other disciplines to ensure the delivery of great ideas

  • Bringing creative concepts to life through headlines, words, phrases and/or scamps.

  • Some writing of long-form copy

  • Presenting and justifying ideas/concepts both internally and externally

  • Becoming an integral part of the creative process, bringing ideas and lines to the table that add value to our campaigns and the overall creative culture

The Right Candidate…

We’re not just looking for an ideas machine, the right person will have sound logic and reasoning behind their concepts, and a real desire to thrive in the industry should shine through.

 

  • Some experience, either through agency employment, freelance, or solid internships

  • A portfolio that is bursting with creativity over a variety of media

  • Clear conceptual thinking, able to create, develop, and contribute ideas to projects

  • Must be enthusiastic, pro-active and have a can-do attitude

  • Always challenging the brief and pushing great creative ideas

  • Work across multiple projects, either independently and as part of a team

  • Be a dog lover, we have about 5 that roam our offices and they’re all very cute!         

 

Salary dependent on experience.
